Last Saturday, we went to see my OB for my monthly check up. She performed an IE cus I told her about the abdominal pains that I was having since the previous day. Turns out that while my cervix is still closed, it has already thinned out in preparation for my labor. At 36 weeks, she still wasn't very at ease with my baby coming out so she recommended bed rest at least until I hit 37 weeks (this Friday).
My hubby's birthday is this Wednesday (the 14th) and I hope my baby girl won't try as much to have the same birthday as her dad. Later I'm scheduled for an ultrasound to check whether my baby's lungs are already fully matured. We're just so excited but we want her to be safe and healthy. Our bags are packed with all documents ready -- we're just waiting for our little one. Hopefully we'll get a favorable ultrasound report later and most of all, we're just praying for a safe delivery and a healthy baby girl.

Happy anniversary!
Hubby and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary (5th anniversary) by going out to dinner at Mario's. We didn't really have time to plan out anything fancy due to our schedules and what not. Still, had the best time. Anytime spent with my husband anywhere is worth everything.
A week ago I went for my first pelvic ultrasound to see how my baby's doing so far. According to the report, he/she is fine and all but I was diagnosed to have grade 1 low lying placenta. MY OB wasn't very concerned cus she told me that the placenta would usually rise up on its own as the pregnancy progresses. However, if it's still lying low on my 7th month, then I would definitely give birth through C-section. She advised me not to engage in strenuous activities and not to lift heavy objects. I was a bit worried about our upcoming beach trip since it would involve a 3 hour road trip (6 hours back and forth) so she prescribed Duvadilan as a first aid medicine just in case I have spotting.
So far my pregnancy discomforts have lessened although I still have vomiting episodes from time to time. I've learned though that eating frequent mini meals helped avoid those. Right now my biggest challenge would be SLEEPINESS at work! I dunno if it's just the hormones or what but I normally don't feel this way at work especially since I sleep for 9-10 hours/day. But now, it's just getting worse. I feel like I've been taking sleeping pills or something.
My tummy's getting bigger and rounder now and my hubby is getting more excited every week. We're both looking forward to seeing the baby on 3D/4D and to knowing its sex. Although my OB has a hunch that it might be a girl. Now I feel pressured to think of baby girl names. Oh well, just like what we've said before, doesn't matter if it's a boy or a girl so long as it's a healthy baby.

First TVS
Dan and I went to my first ultrasound on Tuesday, February 9. Since I just got off work and was feeling very sleepy, I easily got irritated with the long wait and the unbelievably longer time it took for the hospital staff to accomodate everyone. Finally it was my turn to go and there it was, a small gestational sac about 4 weeks old. My OB said that based on my LMP, my pregnancy was about 5 1/2 weeks old but the diameter of the sac suggested that it was only about 4 weeks old. The Sonologist advised me to come back after 2 weeks but I decided to just go back after around 3-4 weeks.
The Sonologist printed my ultrasound and though it was nothing more than a picture of a black dot, Dan and I kept looking at it appreciatively and I kept holding my tummy telling my baby to hold on tight. Our friends congratulated us and our families were happy for another addition on both sides.
So here I am currently on my 6th week (I decided to go for my baby's age based on the ultrasound). Lately I've been feeling incredibly sleepy and I've been having weird cravings that immediately exit my mouth due to my acid attacks. Aside from that, I feel great and happy. Dan talks to my tummy as if it can already hear him and he now wishes for a baby girl. I don't really mind whether we get a boy or a girl so long as it's perfectly safe and healthy.
Now that we're expecting, our lives are slowly changing giving room to additional as well as adjustments in our plans. Dan and I have been very responsible and well-prepared for anything especially our finances and I'm glad that we are already mature to face this head on. Friends were teasing me that I don't have any choice now but to quit shoping but I told them that there's no need to quit; probably just cut down and think twice before obsessing over another bag. I'm just looking forward to a safe pregnancy, healthy baby, and honestly, baby-stuff shopping though my OB told me not to get too excited until I'm on my 7th or 8th month. I thank God for giving us this wonderful blessing and I'm praying that He would keep us safe and healthy all throughout.
